Can I have pain if I get dental crowns? Dentist in Cancun

Dental crowns are dental prostheses that cover the entire visible part of the tooth and can be used for various reasons and to perform various functions. The crowns are necessary when the tooth has been weakened and needs to restore its hardness to be functional again. This can be caused by a fracture of the tooth, a very deep caries or  a previous root canal treatment. A dental crown may also be required solely for aesthetic reasons to change the size and general shape of the teeth. In both cases, when the tooth is filed, its sensitivity is likely to increase. Remember that the teeth have two layers  of protection that cover the pulp (nerve) and carving it will allow the nerve to feel more. This can cause a feeling of discomfort during the first days or when the patient takes cold or hot liquids.

Some dental crowns are made only of porcelain, while others are porcelain fused with metal, even gold is used for some of them. Of course, porcelain crowns are the ones that get the most natural restorations and that is why they are preferred by dentists and patients especially for the front teeth. The placement of a crown usually requires two visits. In the first one, the preparation of the tooth that will house it is carried out, the impressions are made and a temporary crown is placed. Subsequently, the impressions are used to manufacture custom-made crowns.
